John Giorno’s poetry performances strike at the core through rhythm and voice, condensing everyday moments into flashes of insight. Giorno calls his newest works "Memoirs", prose poems about encounters and events from the poet’s life. For us he will perform Lorca, Please Help Me.
John Giorno
John Giorno, performance artist and poet. One of the founders of "Performance Poetry" and the genre of "Spoken Word". Established the record label "Giorno Poetry Systems" (1965). Giorno was the initiator of the first telephone art project DIAL-A-POEM (1968, displayed at MoMA). Lives and works in New York.
